Learn Conversational Spanish? Why?
Why should you consider learning conversational Spanish? English-speaking North Americans point out that they can go from Florida to Alaska (about 4000 miles) and get by just fine with only English.
That’s true. But you can go from Tijuana, Mexico to Punta Arenas, Southern Chile and only need/can use Spanish. And that’s a distance of over 6,000 miles!

Moreover there are hundreds of words that quickly become understandable because of their similarities. English utility is the same as Spanish utilidad. Responsibility = responsibilidad. Activity = actividad and so on.
But who’s got time to learn another language?
There is less problem with the time needed than you might think. Don’t think in terms of the old slow ways for language learning. You can forget your dull high-school language class way of learning – conjugating verbs, learning vocabulary.
